Well, if you take the Tighar group's assessment, it seems to be the 
WE-20** series, which, as a superhet design, would be vastly superior to 
the TRF SCR-183 that you may possibly have been contemplating.  I tend 
to agree with WA4DLF that she may have carried the RA-1, and that is a 
doggone good receiver for the late 1930s.
