Yes I see that. OK, I was wrong about the origin of the SCR-183/283. I had
assumed that because a coil set in my possession was made by W.E. that that
company was the original designer/builder. I was wrong, but that doesn't
necessarily negate my question about whether Earhart carried a W.E.
SCR-183/283 set, does it? Or does it?

Back in 2002-2005 or thereabouts I was actually a subscriber to TIGHAR's
group and made many postings.
Eventually I submitted what I considered to be a very good theory as to
what had happened to Earhart, and the location of her plane and her remains
- on the bottom of the ocean.

For that, I received a terse and rather abusive response from the man most
closely associated with TIGHAR. There was no discussion of my posting by
other members, and I suspect he had blocked it from going out to them.

Soon after, I quit the group. I came to the conclusion that by soliciting
funds to investigate a particular island in the Pacific, that man was
scamming donors and creating a fund so that he could have a yearly vacation
somewhere in the Pacific and satisfy donors by publishing false reports of
a "search". I am not the only person to suggest such a thing.

I believe TIGHAR has no intention of locating Earhart's plane or remains,
and has no interest in any serious theory.
