But both are pentodes with lower efficiency and higher distortion than the
later 6V6 in audio service.
For RF I use the 6V6 as a tripler and doubler to drive a 829B to 75W input
on 6M AM. The oscillator was a 6AG7 which was rated the top crystal
oscillator in a QST test. Worked all over the US and some good DX in the
late 50's with a HB 4el yagi at about 25'.
