I would not donate any of my collection to the Smithsonian
given its current management vs that of the 1980s.
Public interest is ZERO and they must pander to public tastes.
Your donations will go into a box and stay there until
Judgement Day.   I hope to put mine into the hands of 
a private collector with some level of passion for the subject.

IMHO, YMMV of course.
