The direct Lat-Long readout was much later, after the advent on minis and
much more commomly microd. Mid 1970s, not before. It takes a fair amount
of computing of spherial trig.
The accuracy of LORAN-A and LORAN-C were comperable. Both certainly w/in
1000' with a well-trained operator. LORAN-C with a uP could easily do
50-100 feet. LORAN-C was better adapted to automated operation.
