I recall the very first TRW swap meet I ever attended, one Saturday morning in Manhattan Beach.  The TRW ham radio club was auctioning off some donations.  They held up an RU.  "What am I bid for this?"  You could hear the crickets, except for the chuckles.  They handed it to some pre-teenager to play with.

But I bought an unhacked TS-34/AP scope from them for $1.00, and managed to get it working, too.

On ebay right now there is a SCR-283 receiver for sale, hacked but done pretty nicely, except for the SO-239's installed, and of course listed for an outrageous price.
