Excuse me, but, no! :-(

It is 400 mW, and when the impedances are properly matched, that is 
enough audio output at full volume to blow the windows out of my shack, and 
my windows aren't made out of SaranWrap either.

Sheesh...

I have NEVER understood why all the old conversion manuals insisted on 
adding an audio preamp and a following, (supposedly) much more powerful, 
amplifier. It is just plain completely un-necessary.

All that is REALLY necessary is to 1) replace the 12A6's 2 meg grid resistor, 
R-20, with a properly wired 2 meg audio-taper pot, and 2) to match the 
impedances properly.
