Anyone have the maintenance manual for one of these?  I have one, which I've
powered up, and the operators manual, but would really like to see more 
details.

These may be a bit of a stretch in the current context, but the BC-620, 
BC-659 and BC-1335 all used the
receiver to keep the transmitter on frequency.
