[ARC5] WWII Transceivers

David's efforts with the ARC-2 and its variable IF led me to think about WWII tunable transceivers.

And it appears there ain't many at all. They often used tunable receivers and crystal controlled transmitters, and most of the time separate receivers and transmitters, even in the same box. But very few true transceivers it would seem.

I guess the BC-1000 is one. The ARC-2 is another. I guess the RT-45 might be another, although I am not familiar with it other than having a "PTO" out of one I bought from Fair Radio many years ago.

So how many can y'all think of? And why are there so few? Perhaps the ARC-2 is an example of some real, radical innovation.
