[ARC5] ARC-2: IF Regeneration is a "No"

Hi,

Changing from 5 pF to 3 pF is just short of a 50 per cent change. That 
doesn't mean it will almost cut the pass band in half but I would expect 
something noticeable. Hopefully the something would be a benefit.

If the IF is tunable the regeneration trick would be awfully clumsy. It 
can work well enough with a fixed IF as to not require a regen control 
on the front panel. For CW and SSB that approach uses a separate BFO and 
the regen is set below the oscillating threshold at all times. The 
radios where this actually works are designed from the ground up to use 
it and not some add-on "trick". I would guess in this receiver the whole 
proposition is right out.
