Acccording to my 70's vintage G&G catalog, the RAY-3 is an HF AM receiver, not for voice communication. The receiver is desigend to operate on any one pre-determined frequency in the range for which made. The audio systme is desigend for modulation frequencies from 20,000 to 120,000 cps. Tubes are 6AC7, 6A8, 6SJ7, 12SR7. It has an internal dynamotor. The PR6N was made for 14 VDC and the PR7-NA for 28 VDC. Weight is 18 lb, size 10 in by 8.25 in by 12.25 in deep
You could buy one brand new from G&G back then for $8.95.
Yep, must be some kind of remote control. Have no idea for what. The USN did use remote piloted B-24's in WWII and F6F's in Korea.
