[ARC5] OT? bc-348 bfo question

There still becomes a point at which restoring the unit cannot be justified.  This point is, of course, open for interpretation.  However, if no unit is "parted out", then there is going to be a significantly larger number of units that cannot be restored for lack of parts!  As such, the question becomes which is morally correct, trying to get basically a "basket case" restored or providing the means for restoring a number of other units?

Over the decades, I have restored several hundred units and have parted out well under ten units.  The parted out units were generally very common units and, when I obtained them, in my opinion, they were much better suited to being a donor unit so that others could restore similar units than attempting to restore them.

Yes!!! :-)

I agree, Fer. I call those marks "battle scars", and such radios deserve a
place of honor in my shack.
