I respectfully disagree.
I really don't think that a radio that's not restorable to 100% original
condition has to be junked, scrapped or cannibalized to feed her
siblings.
I think that there's an mid point where a radio is not to be restored to
museum level but it can work electrical and mechanically very close to
original performance (or slightly better: capacitor these days are
*way* better). This radio for me has a place here because it's useful
for getting the feeling of the radio of it's era, and because I can
learn working on it, and because I she make so far and it's capable of
pulling some signals from the aether it deserves to do so unmolested.

These days there's a trend of extreme restore, all has to be shiny and
perfect and surgery room clean, just because it's possible. That's valid
for radios, cars, persons, and what not.

I do prefer some character and history in the face and body of these old
radios: they lived a long life and some tough times, so it reflects in
their aspect. That's fine for my shack. That's the way I like them.
