The 5894 is used in the Swan 6 and 2 meter transverters as well as
the Hallicrafters two transverters. The Swan transverters are a more
modern design. I ran one for years on 2 meters and the same tube
would pump out 110 watts key down as long as I used it. The 5894B is
the best of the lot and is used in the Swan transverters. The
Motorola version has larger plate posts and has more plate
dissipation as well as ruggedness.. Back in the good old days I
sawed off the final compartment of a GE UHF radio. it used the 8072,
built a power supply and ran it on 432 SSB with a HB transverter.
