Very interesting topic. 6DQ6 was used in the old Marine band ship to shore radios. The low power ones had one tube. For more power tubes were added in parralel. My father's 150 watt Apelco had 5 I think.

805s are indeed nice tubes, but today they are nearly as expensive as
the 211s. The point of the "thought experiment" is to replace the
211s with an inexpensive sub, thus allowing some of the "no tubes"
375s currently gathering cobwebs to join us on the air.
Triode-connected 6146 family. Forget the sweep tubes. Those things are
etting to be as expensive as the better triodes. And I have never liked the
erned things anyway.
I'll bet I could build an adapter for a 6146 that would plug into a 211 socket.
