These programable oscillators use a simple digital freq synthesis scheme and I expect the signal quality could be really bad. Example they generate a specific freq by alternating outputing freq A which is somewhat above the desired freq and freqB somewhat below the right freq in the right proportion to produce the desired freq on average. This device produces a square wave.  I am very aware that such oscillators are very rich in harmonics but if it is substituted for a crystal (just the crystal) in an older design RF oscillator circuit, how well will it work?
