[ARC5] BC-375 tubes

I dont know of any way to cure an air leak short of pumping down the vacuum.
A gas leak as I describe it is released from the anode thru lack of use and can often be regettered by running the anode at color. That gas is blue.

I wonder how many of those leaky 826's would be OK after an extended "bake?" A very slow leak can add up to a lot over 60 years, but if successfully gettered they may be OK for our immediate use and for the next decade.

I haven't read every message in the thread so don't know if this has been tried yet.

What about the 826? This is a triode, looks like an 829B without the plate pins.

The only ham use of these things seems to have been in Gonset 6 and 2 meter linears to be paired with the Gooney Box AM rigs. Thanks to the cold-war generousity of th' Fed'rul Goobermint and the Civil Defense program, there are about a bazillion of these tubes still extant, NIB.

And I don't think th' Audiophools have discovered them yet.

** Unfortunately many 826's have seal leaks. I went thru several dozen and found only 9 good ones not too long ago. Some audiophools have discovered them, maybe that nice purple glow gives warm fuzzy music.
