I've seen hardware up to at least 110 GHz. The gap between microwaves and
R was bridged at least 30 years ago.

 Last night I was talking to a guy whose company makes radars for such
 applications as airfield ground surveillance.  He says it operates on 77
 GHZ.  I had no idea that anyone was using frequencies that high.
