Yes, I have some reflex klystrons that are in that frequency range and are
over 50 years old. Just check out the Microwave Engineers Handbook and you
will find a lot of them. Of course, now, it is done in solid state for the

I've seen hardware up to at least 110 GHz. The gap between microwaves and IR
was bridged at least 30 years ago.
