That, of course is correct. The system was called an Adcock Range. The
range was oriented to magnetic North for the area being covered. One
had to do at least one intercept of the "combined" area to truly
determine which quadrant you were in. One of the last ranges was in
Millville, NJ and was operational into the early 60's. Flying out of
Dover AFB, one could use the ARN-6 in our T-33s and U-6A Beaver. No ADF
in the '106s. I'm sure Zorro (K4CHE) could elaborate on the above....hi!!!
