You can provide these functions using just the cabling to the six-pin
(PL-151) connectors on the receiver rack.
I open the wire carrying the sidetone (pin 1) or pad it down a lot- it's
loud.
A switch that opens the lead to pin 5 (keying) on the PL-151, which controls
those muting relays in the receiver rack is, in effect, a "Netting" switch,
allowing you to "zero beat" your transmitter. Use a second PL-151
with leads from pins 5 (keying) and 6 (+24 VDC buss) to an external
24 VDC relay coil and you have a keying relay for an external amplifier.
