Thanks, Hutch. :-)
My wife (and her mother) told me long ago that I was the most stubborn man
they had ever met. I don't agree, but what do I know?

There certainly have been a lot of them!

I am beginning to seriously doubt it !!!!
I am now wondering if there is a cathode to filament short or something
similar, which would NOT effect the audio output, but would, most definitely,
effect any scope display. SOMEthing is sure screwy....
After all, it dawned on me this morning that by yanking the detector tube, and
connecting my RF probe to the same place the detector would have been
connected and getting the correct display, that the RF probe is simply a
detector with a built in LPF.

Funny you should suggest that, Hutch. That is exactly what I had thought I
should do this morning.
I'll do that and will report back here afterwards.
Thanks! :-)
