[ARC5] Navy LM Use

All,
The BC-211-* could be mounted as TS-174 (I think) and take power from the BC-348-* and thus be compact like the LM counter part. Also, the LM was available in a tall battery case like that of the BC-211. I also have an LM in a water tight case for the TBW. So there are several configurations of both LM and BC-211.

I also prefer the LM-* series. The LM-* also has signal modulation as a
standard selectable function. The vast majority of SCR-211-* sets do
not.

The bulky SCR-211-* package was generally, out of necessity, stowed away
somewhere near the radio operator position. The small installed LM-*
units were shock-mounted near the operating position, ready to use,
cal book stowed under the set. That was not practical with the SCR-211-*,
so that may lead to a false conclusion that the SCR-211-* was utilized
less commonly in the USAAF than the LM-* was in the USN.
