Hi Bill,

I have a Heathkit sweeper meant for TV and FM broadcast service that 
uses that approach. I would have to review the manual. I think the extra 
inductor is on a powdered iron or ferrite shoe over the tank coil. The 
derned old clunker still does what it always did so I keep using it.
