2M AM activity starts one town at a time; it is dead around here and I 
overlook the greater Boston area from Southern NH.
I dont have any ARC gear but a Clegg Zeus with Interceptor B and a pair of 
long yagis fed with 120W goes a long way. About 20 years ago I could work 
into the NYC-LI/NJ area on 2M AM

 I can easily cover 100-125 miles on 6M AM with a much smaller antenna on a 
noiser band at the same power (same rigs). A lot further with well equipped 
stations but 2M has better coverage for me and so does 222.
