I assume you people are using the "official" inflation calculator, based
on the CPI.

IMO, that index vastly undercalculates the true rate of inflation. The
'basket of goods' does not reflect reality.

The true rate of inflation, and the corresponding devaluation of US money,
is used to hide massive government overspending by irresponsible
politicians. It is a very cruel, well hidden, tax on those who work and
save.
