The only one I know of is the "SSB Transceiver from the BC-453" that was 
designed by Ernie Mason W6IQY and Ed Marriner W6BLZ.     That was a 
major rebuild mechanically and electrically that included transmitter 
stages, and this isn't it.   It's certainly not a W2EWL Cheap and Easy 
rig either.    I'd say it's exactly what it looks like - a hacked-up 
command set receiver.    Those Amphenol mic connectors could have been 
used for anything - audio, antenna, or even power.  The builder probably 
had a drawer full of 'em.
