Hmmm...
That almost raises more questions than it answers.
On recovered aircraft, have other canvas items been found?
If the cover was for spare equipment, why the elaborate cutouts and snaps
so it can be applied/removed with the set cabled up? If the cover were
just an inch or so longer, it'd cover everything without the complexity.
