[ARC5] [Milsurplus] ARB Canvas Cover

Mike,
I'm not criticizing. I'm just trying to understand why?
I can see why a cockpit cover might be left open it there was a need to
respond quickly to a Japanese air attack, but why would the ARB the only
thing to be protected with a removable cover? Maybe there are covers out
there for other gear, but I've not seen any.
And what about other gear? Transmitters? Panel Instruments? Are there
drain holes in the bottom of the fusilage or does rain/spray just slosh
around down there?
I'm not a plane guy.
