[ARC5] Field Day musings...

This "Vintage Field Day" idea was kicked-around several
years ago. IMHO it was a bad idea then and it's a bad
idea now. No sanction, no publicity- almost nobody knows
about it and almost nobody cares. Having a separate
event might feel good, but it accomplishes nothing
except to "preach to the choir."

If we want to run "vintage" gear for Field Day,
we should run it on the sanctioned, established Field Day.
It's not like some buffoon can stop us and
there are no points-off for using a *real* radio.
Do it for yourself and for the valuable few
who will show real interest. Ignore the lemming herd
and their girly, $5000 pieces of plastic-and-blinky-lights.

Don't expect to be validated in your good work
by the common herd with their repeater beeps and
"5-9 good luck cue-are-zed" computers-with-antennas.
If making a contact is ever much harder
than an internet chat room
or if the repeater ever stops its infernal "beeping,"
those bits of fluff will be gone with the first stiff breeze.
Be proud of your manly radios!
The Few have always carried the fire for the many.
