I inadvertently quoted the value from what seems to be the
190-550 Kc/s receiver. Nevertheless, the resistor in the other
models is high (at least 0.15 Meg).
I'd check that the value is correct for the receiver model you
have, and it's still prudent to replace this resistor if it's still the
original 70 year old unit.
