Not the mixer tank: the RF amp plate tank.

Not mixer plate: sort of the mixer grid, but certainly the RF amp plate in this case.

The mixer grid has a closely coupled (to L-2) coil, L-3, in parallel with three frequency-setting 
and tuning capacitors.

Hmmm...well, you may be correct, Ian. However, I have never seen this before, and would 
like to know what Dr. Drake and the boys at ARC had in mind.
