No matter what we do there is always the possibility of multiple 
fail-safes to actually fail and destroy those fragile filaments. Pick 
one or two that fit your agenda and put them in place. Then move on to 
the next project. Enjoy your gear while you still have it. Sooner or 
later (hopefully much later) Murphy is going to get it.
