Hi,
Well we really aren't tuning the antenna with one of those gizmos but we
are tuning the antenna system matching circuits. We have deeply
entrenched misuse of terminology much worse than that. I guess we all
know what is being discussed. In my own case there is a Johnson Matchbox
(not labeled 'tuner'), a Murch Transmatch (also not labeled 'tuner'),
and a homebrew L. Murch calls their box a "transmatch". I made the L and
I call it an L matching network or somethines just a "simple gizmo".
