One of the weirdest contacts I ever made was when a friend of mine and I drove down to the Talamina Trail one fall weekend in 1977.  At one stop on the mountain road I hauled out the 2M rig and put out a call on 146.52.  The reply I got back was from W5WSV, from Dallas, who was on the way to the same location with his wife.  

You can believe that contact caused some call sign confusion!
