[ARC5] crystal control

I knew if I looked around a bit I'd find it...

Some 20+ years ago the electronics teacher from the local high school 
told me they were throwing some "old radio junk" and if I wanted it, to 
come and get it before the dumpster was picked up. Included was a Viking 
II transmitter but there was also an ARC-5 transmitter with a little 
gray minibox plugged into the back.   A Novice adapter, from they days 
when novices were required to use crystal control.

I suspect this came from a magazine article somewhere, and as the pics 
show, it's pretty simple:
