Dave. You have offended the little ones and must do penance.
(I live with Irish and British family members: There is absolutely no
doubt that "The Little People" listen to what we say, and if we talk
of possible trouble, they make it happen soon!)
So to avoid trouble I suggest the following ablutions:
- Listen raptly to any WW-II radio for at least an hour a day
- Recite Ohms Law before and after listening.
- Carefully note the aroma of hot 12A6s and 12SK7s.
- Place your hands in a reverent pose on top of any warm ARC-5 type
radio you might have running.
- If possible, settle any friendly cat on top of any warm radio.
- Find the oldest, and most beat up airplane radio you have and
respectfully turn the dial while finding any possible interesting
station. Remember the 17 year old at 20,000 feet freezing his buns
off in 1943 who might have done the same. Be glad you are in your shop.
