Hi guys,
Here in Australia, every state requires a vehicle inspection when a car
is more than 3 years old.
It cost about $30 and involves checks for lights, blinkers, no oil
leaks, and suspension.
If a car is a rust bucket it won't be driven home. Finally brakes are
inspected using an accelerometer.
The accelerometer is put in the car, a mechanic drives the car and hits
the brakes and the instrument prints out the deceleration, with a
"pass/fail" notice.
That's how it works in Australia.
It isn't necessary to have an ARC-5 set in cars to pass the inspection.
Doesn't help one bit.
