That probably would be a perfect coil to use, provided no viable for restoration 
sets are harmed in the process.  I did not have one at the time I built mine.  I 
suspect Walt might have actually used one in his prototype.

Just a thought - since there are certainly plenty of hacked sets around to 
supply them.  Couldn't one use a matching plate tank coil connected backwards 
(link to link) with the coax tapped up on the tuned coil?
