I was amazed at the difference. In fact. It was so obvious that I suspected 
something was wrong with the original 12SK7s...yet they are new, and 
swapping other 12SK7s made no difference.

Yes. I am very curious about both of those too. As I have time, I'll indulge my 
curiousity and post the results here when I have time.

To me it is really kind of funny how much one learns by "playing".
