Lamented is right.
I never thought, even 20 years ago, that Kodachrome would ever disappear.
As late as the mid-1980s, that most excellent Kodachrome 25 was often
available even at Walmart...and Kodachrome 64 was available everywhere.
One could detect the work of inexperienced amateur slide photographers
when their results came back mostly clear transparency due to the gross
over-exposure that their usual print film and processing tolerated.
