[ARC5] historical note

I've heard tales of brand new aircraft pushed over the side of returning carriers.War over,no need to carry the inventory. War may be Hell but it's also big business. That includes making all the stuff for the gov'mnt and the the gov'mnt getting rid of it when no longer needed.
Next time you have a coke or beer, think of the fine aircraft the can may once have been. You may actually hold molecules of aluminum that was once adorned with magnificent "nose art". Makes my bud lite look even better this Valantine's Day.

Gordon sent this to me, but I suspect he meant to send it to the list, so I am
doing that.

The contract records are among those I gave to NASM - I think I may
still have a copy of the telegram sent to Boonton on VJ day. It was
brutal. Two hours to halt all work -
