See below: you are SO right

I thought of that some time ago, but eventually eliminated that as a cause.

They are on beautiful little ceramic slug-tuned forms.

It is worth one heck of a lot, Michael.

In fact, that is exactly what I found, only minutes before I got your post: the slug inside the coil 
form is so loose that the slightest movement anywhere in the receiver makes it move. It 
would, very clearly, vibrate with sound.

And I discovered this quite by accident: I had removed the coil to coat it with coil dope, and 
just happened to be looking into the coil when I rocked it from side to side. The slug was 
literally flopping around in there.

At this point, I am VERY tempted to simply fill the form with that coil dope made from MEK-
dissolved styrofoam cups.

What do you think about that?
