[ARC5] Novice License document

At one time, you had to send in your "expiring" license when renewal time came and photocopying was unknown. I don't have those OR my original licenses.

My KN2GKK Novice ticket was issued on 30 Nov 1953; good for one year, non-renewable (EVER). And the Novice was NOT available to anybody who had EVER had any FCC license, amateur OR commercial.

I got my Tech ticket in Summer of 1954 but didn't get my 13 wpm until Jan 1955.

In those days you could have both Novice AND Tech simultaneously. Getting the Tech preserved my K2GKK callsign for my upgrade to General with passing 13 wpm in Jan 1955. The District 20 (Buffalo, NY) simply indorsed my Tech ticket on a second line indicating General with the usual "stamped" C B Plummer signature.

My mother apparently threw away ALL of my Novice stuff (including complete Walter Ashe station) sometime after I joined the Air Force in Feb 1960.
