thanks Dave..all gone now,hi!..missed the boat as usual..using a 'solid
state choke' replacement here on an 1155A..worked ok as a choke but
generated noise all over the place..some freqs unuseable ..some clear..tiny
cheap device but no sub for the genuine old heavy 5mh choke,hi! but a useful
experiment..I should know by now that there are no short cuts but I'm still
looking for them,hi!..by the way I liked the pix of your little module but
could only see one?..I take it there were two there?..73 es Happy New year
now as Christmas is over here,hi...de Pat/EI7CN

I emailed the seller after his supply ran out asking if more were available.
Today, he answered that he had put 22 of them back on the bay. I bought
six.
18-75V in, +48V and -48V out, isolated DC-DC converter *RARE* Datel BWR30421

I'm no longer on the milsurplus list, so no problem if somebody wishes to
forward this message there.

Glad he had some more.
These will be gone fast, but keep an eye-out on the Bay
with that search string: -non dc converter isolated
Most of them aren't good for us but "gems" do show-up.
Isolated, dual-outputs for + and - 15 Volts, making 30 Volts
available, appear occasionally. I've stacked them to better
than 200 volts without problems and currently run a set
at 90 Volts with three of them. Been running that way
off a 12-volt gel cell for couple of years now without issues.
Newer ones seem to have few RFI issues.
Higher switching frequencies mean fewer birdies.
I find the occasional birdie on some odd frequency
an acceptable trade-off for such an easy, inexpense power solution.
Happy Holidays to all,
David S. AB5S
