He actually has two "odd, old" transmitters.
The one with the meters on the upper-left and upper-right corners
is a WWII ATD Liasion transmitter (contemporary of the ART-13).

The one in the badly-smeared photo with the big knobs labeled
"C", "D" and "F"  is an RCA ATB Command transmitter.
Very nice.  If I was able to make such a road trip, I'd 
certainly want this one.
