You are probably referring to the SB2C Helldiver rather that the Dauntless.  To my best knowledge the SBD Dauntless carried the GP-series transmitter and RU-series receiver.  So did the Kingfisher (there is one aboard the USS North Carolina in Wilmington, NC, so I've seen at least one in person, plus there are a couple of "spare" GPs aboard the ship).  However, the TBF/TBM Avenger torpedo bomber also carried the ARB receiver and ATC (ART-13) transmitter, as did the SB2C.  The Helldiver was intended to replace the Dauntless; but the Dauntless was by far the better airplane.  They didn't call the Helldiver "the BEAST" (or another B-word) for nuttin'!

My ARB is the same contract number but the serial number is 1-22132 or I-22132. anybody have clues to ARB serial numbering?

Nice...was looking at a new  (to me anyway) NASM book at the Smithsonian Store at  Reagan National the other night  while waiting for a late flight home - don't recall the title, but it was a collection of various military aircraft interior shots of planes in the NASM collection.  The ARB showed up paired with the ART-13 in a couple of the dive bombers (the Dauntless, and the earlier one, whose name escapes me at the moment). May have also showed up in the Kingfisher float scout planes.  

My ARB works, but the little S shaped band switch knob has gone AWOL somewhere in the basement...anyone have a spare?  I suspect they are hard to come by.
