The unit on the right definitely is the start of one. The 80/20 meter
version was contemplated based on the size of the tuning and loading
capacitors and the presence of two coils near the 1625 sockets instead
of just one. The toggle-type bandswitch that would select between them
would be mounted on the sidewall opposite the carrier balance pot where
an empty hole can be seen. The rest of the tuned circuits look to be
present, as are the three Lionel surplus audio transformers that were
cheaply available surplus at the time. Along with the small tubes,
the audio phase shift network is missing, and it looks like just a bit
of the audio section and power wiring has been done. The other
transmitter and parts must just be part of the same estate, unrelated to
the W2EWL rig.
An interesting little time-capsule! The same seller has quite an array
of vintage audio and other stuff for sale, all BIN but rather premium
prices, IMHO.
