The ARC Connector 12994 is basically a PL-152 with a key on the OD of the plug, The socket has a mating slot for the key. A PL-152 would work fine as the key is not needed to keep the plug from being inserted wrong. The pin arrangement takes care of that. The only case where that is needed is when you have multiple sockets with the same pin arrangement. In that case there would be another connector with the key in a different orientation to keep them from being crossed. Most of the original ARC plugs later came out again with these keys, usually in 3 different locations, at 10, 12, and 2 o'clock, roughly. Each of the 3 plugs and sockets would be sporting a new ARC part number. The 12994 is just one example.
