In 1960 I worked in the semiconductor industry. We used HC in the processing. The HD came on polyethylene jugs.

We etched both silicon and quartz with the stuff. And we had to wear protective clothing.

What will it do in a plastic jar with a plastic lid. Like a peanut butter jar?

I'd think it would eat through it if it will eat crystal, but maybe not?

If not, I've got the perfect container. At some point in the past, Gerber went from putting baby food in glass jars to small, rectangular plastic containers. Maybe 1.5" x 2.75". They even come with a re-sealable cover. So they're nice and small which means you don't have to use as much solution, can be sealed up, and the apple sauce isn't too bad.

Saved a few here for soaking brass hardware in ammonia or keeping parts together with projects. Since the Princess just started on solid food recently, I have a feeling there will be a steady supply for some months/years to come.
